TETUZI AKIYAMA

In June 2006, SASSAS held its first workshop for Los Angeles area musicians with a visiting Japanese improviser, Tetuzi Akiyama. The workshop was an opportunity for participants to discuss techniques and approaches to their practice, as well as exchange information about the experimental communities in Los Angeles and Tokyo. Fifteen members of the local experimental community participated in the event, which culminated collaborative concert presented to the public for a nominal fee. Special thanks to the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock for hosting the concert and workshop
